SEMI-PERMANENT MAKEUP
Welcome to the world of semi-permanent make-up, trending big among celebrities and non-celebrities alike. Semi-permanent make-up has come a long way and now looks amazingly natural. But what is it? And is it right for you?
What is semi-permanent make-up?
Semi-permanent makeup (also called cosmetic tattooing and micro-pigmentation) is when pigment is inserted into the papillary layer of the dermis to enhance certain facial features. Semi-permanent make-up is not the same as tattooing, which uses ink. Instead, pigment is used to ensure a natural end result.
Why semi-permanent make-up?
One of the main reasons? Ease. You appear as if your make-up has been freshly applied without doing a thing. Whether it’s your brows or eyes or lips or skin, your look is always ready-to-go.
Other benefits? You give your skin a break from wearing make-up which means less clogged pores, toxins to breathe, dry lips from constant lipstick and no more eye infections from eye makeup products, to name a few. The pigments used in semi-permanent make-up are safe and non-toxic.
Semi-permanent is also not forever so not as much of a commitment as tattooing. (Though trust us: you’ll like the ease and convenience so much, you’ll wish it lasted longer.)
