It’s not quite summer but can’t you feel it in the air? I can. And after months of Covid-induced isolation, I want to shed the old and welcome in the new. This starts with a good cut and a new, fun summer-themed hair color.
But what color is hot this summer 2020? I feel so out of the loop! After checking with my stylists at Salon Deauville, here’s what they have to say:
The Hottest Hair Color Trends for 2020
Bold Roots. Well, luckily many of us are all ready sporting some serious lockdown roots. Simply letting your roots grow out adds dimension to your overall hair style and also shows you’re not afraid to reveal your true color (though if you don’t like your original color, go for a shade of your choice). The best part? A lower maintenance hair color plan overall, since you can let your roots grow out for a while.
Soft Bronde Balyage. Yes, “bronde” not blonde. Sounds fancy but its actually an amazingly natural look. Think super warm shades of brown blended with the gentlest of highlights, accented by natural shades. (This color will look awesome in the Fall too.)
Bold Summer Blue. Oh go for it! What’s stopping you? Get rid of those antiquated ideas of overly brassy punk rock shades and dive into vivid summer blue, rich in hue with a sheen of gloss on top. Trust me, it will look amazing.
Blue Tips. If the last suggestion was a little too much, why not experiment with the tips of your hair instead? It adds a rebellious element without being too much. And its easier than more multi-layered hair color techniques.
Face-framing color. This has been a colorist’s favorite choice for a while but it also happens to be way in style this season. Simply choose a slightly lighter shade to frame your face. So easy but super effective visually.
