Eyelash Lifts – Beyond (and Better than) Mascara
Think of what a permanent does to your hair, keeping and holding a curl for long periods of time. A lash lift works similarly, lifting and curling your lashes for full length. This is done using a tiny curling rod and a lifting solution.
The Eyelash Lift Process
This specialized treatment should always be performed by a licensed professional like the members of our Montreal team. We perform an in-depth consultation first where we determine your particular type of eyelashes and desired result.
Then your esthetician will cleanse the eye area and place a small silicone rod on the eyelids. Your natural eyelashes will be curled over the rod and attached with an adhesive. After, a lifting lotion is applied to the molded lashes along with a setting lotion that sets the shape.
The entirety of the process takes 45 – 60 minutes. Your new fully curled lashes last approximately four to six weeks.
Can I wear mascara after an eyelash lift?
You can…but why would you? Your lashes already look amazing. But if you want an extra boost, go with a water-based formula and avoid water-proof mascara (since it can leave a residue and lessen the effect of your lift).
Is an eyelash lift damaging to my natural lashes?
Similar to getting your hair colored, this process isn’t beneficial to your natural lashes but done occasionally (wait 6 weeks between treatment), your eyelashes should be fine. Don’t forget to condition your eyelashes between treatments for the healthiest results.
